Palm Beach Atlantic’s Visual Arts Studio

Saturday, May 3rd CLPB members gathered at Palm Beach Atlantic’s Visual Arts Studio where Stephen Futej shared a lecture  detailing his path in ceramics. Stephen spoke about those who inspired him, the evolution of his work, and his “low tech”  approach. Following the lecture Stephen demonstrated techniques in creating textured slabs from his self-made ceramic molds.  Stephen explored the form of circles, particularly the outer circle giving reverence to the curves left behind and paying special  attention to making use of natural bends when joining and shaping slabs.
