On April 12, as part of our April board meeting, Barbara Powell instructed us on how to enter an exhibition. This included the key factors to consider. Barbara demonstrated how to take professional photos and provided key information on how to submit to a Call to Artists (i.e., Artist Bio, Artist Statement, editing photos, etc.).

On Thursday, March 21we had a demonstration by Odile Yeramian. Yeramian is a French, self-taught artist. After a successful career in international marketing, she turned her focus to ceramics, taking interest in the versatility of the material. She explores unconventional surface treatment for functional and sculptural pieces. She is also experienced in welding, and often incorporates steel into her mixed-media work.

On March 7 & 8, 2024 members of the CLPB joined Sharon Bastin at the Armory Art Center for a 2 day workshop. Sharon taught us how she creates her beautiful animal sculptures as we worked along creating our own sculptures. Thank you Sharon, we had so much fun!

On 2/21/24 the CLPB was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit Debbie and Bob Burger's home for a tour of their extensive contemporary ceramics collection. We had an awesome time looking, talking, and being inspired. Click below to have a look and enjoy!

On 1/21/24  Cynthia Zmetronak and her husband Pete hosted us at their charming home and studio. We had a pleasant time with many interesting discussions on a variety of ceramic subjects. The turnout was fantastic with many new friends and faces. Hope to see you at our next event!!

On 12/15/23 We held our annual Holiday Get Together at the Hagen Library. We had a blast, the members enjoyed reminiscing on our League's past by going through the many photo albums that were collected over more than 40 years! The event included a gift exchange of our favorite clay tools and everyone had a chance to learn from each other's experiences. Good times.

On 11/18/23 We held our first demonstration at the Palm Beach Atlantic Univ. We were graciously hosted by Professor Heather Couch. Barbara Powell shared two new techniques that she learned at a workshop with Akira Satake (akirasatake.com). The first was a one-piece tea bowl with a Kohiki slip and the second was using the kurinuki technique (starting from a solid form).
